Expect Friendliness...
When you attend Orchard Hills, you will be warmly welcomed! We are a friendly church--it's part of our DNA. In fact, perhaps the best description of what a "church" is supposed to be is "family." The church is the family of God. At Orchard Hills, you definitely won't get lost in the crowd.
Expect Heartfelt Singing...
People often ask if a church's music is "traditional" or "contemporary." Well, we are both and neither. We are a multi-generational church which helps us appreciate a broad palette of musical taste and tradition. We encourage one another and praise God using hymns, choruses, contemporay Christian hits, and even Southern Gospel songs. What matters is the heart, not the style of music.
Expect Biblical Teaching...
Our pastor and lay teachers faithfully teach the Word of God. It is God's letter to us explaining His love for us, His expectations of us, and His instructions for how to really live. It is timeless and relevant. While we highly esteem God's Word, we are also free to wrestle with its teachings. You will find an atmosphere that welcomes discussion as we search for truth with the Bible as our guide.
Expect Encouragement...
At Orchard Hills, expect to be encouraged to grow spiritually. Max Lucado said it so well, "God accepts you just the way we are, but He loves us too much to leave you that way. He wants you to become just like Jesus."
If you're looking for a church where you will hear only "feel-good" messages, this won't be the church for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for "hellfire and brimstone" sermons all the time, this won't be for you either. The Bible is a book of balance, and we strive to be a church of balance. God and His Word comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable. That is real and it is how we grow.
